Over the winter on KG5GJT's "DStar Net of Southeast Lousiana" I made a ham radio goal of getting on 6 meters this summer. Last year I bought an MFJ wire dipole and cut it for 50 MHz. I made a few SSB contacts during the June VHF contest, and have listened a bit on the SSB calling frequency, but mostly I've left it connected to the FT-847 monitoring FT-8.
It's been fun to keep an eye out for openings and watch propagation come and go. Once the Sporadic-E season is over I'll pack it up for next year.
